Dr Chris Barr

Dr Chris Barr is a Sports Doctors with dual training as a General Practitioner and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. With a deep understanding of both the body’s mechanics and medical intricacies, he is dedicated to delivering holistic solutions for sports and exercise related injuries.
Dr Barr initially studied physiotherapy at Curtin University in 2003 and worked in sports focused physiotherapy clinics throughout Perth. Early in his career he was employed as the head physiotherapist at West Perth Football Club gaining invaluable experience in managing professional athletes.
In 2007 Dr Barr spent 5 years working in an injury management and prevention team for a large Western Australian utility company helping employees with workplace related injuries. At this stage he completed a Masters of Manual Therapy (physiotherapy) at the University of Western Australian gaining advanced education and experience from some of the most prominent physiotherapists in Australia.
In 2013 Dr Barr then studied medicine at Notre Dame University in Fremantle, completing his 4 year training in 2016, graduating as a medical doctor. He spent the next 4 years working in Perth hospitals and training as a General Practitioner. He completed his Fellowship as a General Practitioner in 2021.
Since graduating as a medical doctor, Dr Barr has worked as the Medical Officer at Western Perth Football Club and more recently at the Western Force Rugby Team. He has also provided match day medical support for the AFLW and A League competitions.
